Do you like Inhumans? No? But do you like X-Men? Good! Time to tune in then.
43. Ms. Marvel #12
Almost everyone in the existence loves Kamala! The girl is classy, but here we see the opposite of that. Something will happen to Kamala Khan that won’t be good. She doesn’t wanna be a hero? Or worse, maybe she will loose her powers? Either way this tickles my curiosity levels a lot. This is A MODERATE READ. And yes, she is an Inhuman.
44. Mosaic #1
Introducing a brand new Marvel character with Deadman-like powers! Honestly the character looks awesome and can have a lot of potential. This is an obvious MUST READ because new characters are really my thing. Give some spot light to new people, you know? Speaking of Kamala what if we get another new coming fan favorite like her? This series will follow a professional basketball player who is arrogant, but once he becomes a Inhuman his life change forever.
45. Uncanny Inhumans #15
It’s official. Medusa wants to be Miley Cyrus. But really, why is Medusa cutting her hair? A powerful strong woman is getting rid of the thing that makes her the who she is. There are many Inhuman-haters out there, but come on guys, they are pretty cool. And I can’t think of a storyline that would highlight on the Inhumans as good characters, but they aren’t so bad. Inhumans work really well as background characters than leads and even writers like Charles Soule can’t help them. This looks interesting, but it’s really A MUST SKIP.
46. Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #13
I never picked up this series, but it always looked like a fun little story. Moon Girl looks to be building something very complex, but unless I’ll come across this it’s A MUST SKIP. Anyone actually who reads the series? I will pick it up if someone recommends it.
47. Death of X #1
The beginning of the end! I really love the image above, it does 2 important things. 1. It shows two different worlds, perspectives, views brilliantly. 2, It shows how dumb Marvel is for having mutants being hated by the masses, but Inhumans not when there is no difference between the two! Even if Inhumans didn’t exist you have Marvel heroes that are impossible to tell apart from mutants. You would think Marvel would have moved on with this trope. X-Men/mutants have been strongly hated for 50 years! The society in our world made more progress than that with racism, sexism, or homophobia. Heck, apparently now mutants are being hated even more than ever. Oh right I am supposed to talk about the comic, but I just wanted to point out how dumb this has become.
I’ve talked about this in my Top Comic Stories of the Week, how this takes time after Secret Wars but before All-New All-Different Marvel(which took time 8 months after Secret Wars) so it fills in the gap nicely. It explains many question like what happened with Cyclops and other mutants. This will be an Inhumans vs. X-Men story. Jeff Lemire and Charles Soule are both involved so let’s make this good. A MODERATE READ.
#1 and #2 come out in October while #3 and #4(final) come out in November. Now there has been a huge misconception. Extraordinary X-Men, Amazing Spider-Man, and other X-Men titles are continuing with their regular runs and not being cancelled. Dan Slott, the writer of Amazing Spider-Man, said so on his twitter page, but it isn’t clear yet if they will be part of the Marvel NOW! comics line or not. So to all people saying Marvel is killing off mutants because of the movies should probably come down and also read this, Why Marvel Isn’t Bias Against X-Men in Comics. Keep in mind it came out before the plot and the announcement of the time period of Death of X.
“The X-Men, Wolverine, Spider-Man and more will all be seen in their regular series when October’s solicitations roll around later in July.”
