Ok, I lied. I told you there would be more Spider-Man titles in this one, but Marvel dropped the official catalog with even more sneak peaks. Don’t hate me alright? I promise Part 4 will have Spider-Man. If it makes you feel better I am ignoring any news of Spider-Man as much until I get to him. Still mad at me? Ok. I tried.
11. Hawkeye #1
Sadly this isn’t a story of Clint Barton. I presume that’s fine because Clint will be the lead of Occupy Avengers #1. I am actually a small fan of Kate Bishop after Matt Fraction ran an amazing run of Hawkeye that EVERYONE needs to read. It follows mostly Clint, but eventually we follow her adventures for 5 issues and it is reallycool. Kelly Thompson will be the writer who previously wrote Jem and the Holograms which is getting good word of mouth. The series seems really cool so why shouldn’t I read it? A MODERATE READ is what this one will be for me. The “West Coast Avenger” tag intrigues me. Is this a teaser for West Coast Avengers for the future? I would say very possible especially when we have Great Lake Avengers right now.
12. Captain America: Sam Wilson #14
Take back the Shield? Did he loose it? Someone stole it? Or is this talking about S.H.I.E.L.D.? As you can see I am not following the current Captain America: Sam Wilson comic. I read the couple first issues, but it was just there. Nick Spencer’s writing is okay in my opinion. I think Sam Wilson has a higher potential of being the better Captain America in today’s day and age, but he’s being held back by Spencer’s writing in MY OPINION is just okay. This is going to be A MODERATE SKIP, but you can expect the interior art to be beautiful by Daniel Acuna!
13. Captain America: Steve Rogers #7
That is one awesome cover by Hans! This series is written much better than Sam Wilson’s due to a better story premise. Again, just my opinion. So I tried not giving away the twist, but I guess Marvel stopped worrying about that themselves. Story arcs are usually 5-6 issues long, issue 7 is the begging of the second story arc so it’s nice to see Steve still Hailing Hydra! It’s nice to see the twist wasn’t only done for shock factor, but for a story purpose that will last longer than just one arc. I like the interior art by Saiz and Spencer’s work here is good. Captain America: Steve Rogers #7 is gonna be A MUST READ.
14. The Unworthy Thor #1
Will Odinson finally get the redemption he seeks? Probably. This Ultimate Universe (destroyed alternative universe) Mjolnir might end up being Odinson’s new hammer giving him back the ‘Thor’ title, but we know it won’t be the same. It’s like when you have a toy as a kid then that toy breaks and your parents tell you you’ll get a new one, but you cry because you wanted the old one. Hopefully I wasn’t the only one who did that because it makes look spoiled. Jason Aaron will of course write his 5th Thor series. That alone makes this A MUST READ. I recently read his Thor: God of Thunder and if anyone read the series you’ll know the ‘Unworthy Thor’ time period will be so embarrassing for Thor that he’ll have to keep it a secret from everyone in the future. Should I still call him Odinson, or Unworthy Thor? I’ll call him both.
15. The Mighty Thor #15
This looks to be the next epic story line for Thor. I don’t know much about Shi’ar, but I know if you mess with Gladiator you should kill yourself. That’s how afraid you should be of him. Is that Odinson beside the Mighty Thor? I think so. Another work of Aaron that makes it A MUST READ although I do have some criticism of the comic like why does this Thor speak like an Asgardian when Thor is just her disguise? Either way this will be an epic.
16. Invincible Iron Man #1
Oh yes. The trending title. So yes Tony Stark will most likely die in Civil War II and Riri Williams – the 15 year-old genius – will take his place. The weird part is her name isn’t Iron Woman nor Iron Maiden, but Iron Man. Someone told me she is pretending to be Tony Stark or just hiding her secret identity which I buy into, but if her identity is known to the world there is no reason for her to be called that. Brian Michael Bendis has been a hit or miss lately and since this is a new character I’m willing to support…… A MUST READ is what I’ll consider this one.
17. Infamous Iron Man #1
What surprises me about this one is that Brian Michael Bendis is writing another Iron Man story! This is what I lately notice about Marvel: double or more of every hero, and Bendis = Iron Man titles, Spencer = Captain America titles, Aaron = Thor titles. I am excited to see this new version of Iron Man because Dr. Doom is in my top 3 favorite villains of all time. This is A MUST READ although I am not feeling the artist for this type of title. The art suits Punisher more, but since I know little of the story I am holding out hope it will be suit perfectly.
So that is it for now! I promise you will get Spider-titles for the next part. Promise! Make sure to like, share and most importantly follow ComicBooger! if you like the content here.
