Welcome to Part 2! Yes this is part 2 so if you missed Marvel NOW! Analysis Part 1 click on the title right now. If you didn’t or if you’re caught up then let us analyze more Marvel NOW! titles. Last time we analyzed the Avengers side of things, and we’ll continue with that.
6. U.S. Avengers #1
I already voiced my opinion on this new team of heroes. We have a much more in depth look and analysis of each independent character having their own concept art. If you are interested in seeing more content from this series go read Marvel NOW! 1st Full Promo, New World’s Finest & more! – Top Comic Stories of the Week and skip to the section where we have a more in depth look at them. I’ll just add here that this comic will be A MODERATE SKIP because this won’t be anything earth shattering in quality unless reviews say otherwise. Next!
7. Great Lake Avengers #1
I also stated my opinions on this one, but don’t worry I won’t redirect you to a different post. I won’t pretend like I know any of these characters, but this looks like a really funny comic capable of winning some awards. I like books that are self aware of their own uselessness in result of turning into a useful and interesting comic book. I wanna meet these characters I have never met before hoping I will like it. A MODERATE READ is what I am considering this one. Can be something really special if done the way I said.
8. Black Panther #7
I am one of those people who doesn’t like the Ta Nehsi Coates current run of Black Panther when I found it to be boring, but I am willing to give this one a shot looking just at that cover. We have T’Challa’s ex-wife, Storm. I am interested in the relationship in seeing how it progressed and will progress. Luke Cage is obviously getting some love due to the TV series and Misty Knight with her Antarctic Vibranium arm. I like the looks of the team. A king with resource to the strongest metal, with a man who has strong skin, with a woman who has a arm that can break that strong metal, with an ex-wife of the king. It would have been nice to see at least one white guy on the team but I’m not really complaining about that. Black Panther #7 looks like a more interesting take on the character than previously which is why this is going to result in A MODERATE READ.
9. The Unstoppable Wasp #1
Nadia Pym is another example of a second version of a character. We have a second Wasp just like we have double versions of every hero. Wasp is an awesome character and she seems like a very cool, new addition to the MU. This has peaked my interest in reading although I am not familiar with the writer I do know he wrote some Eisner Award winning material. And the design! Her costume looks awesome! I love it! I can see myself reading this. I can also see an Ant-Man and the Wasp series in the near future. Knowing this is in good hands Wasp will be A MUST READ. I always prefered her over Ant-Man (even thought this is a new persona).
10. Avengers #1.1
When I heard there would be another #1.1, #1.2, etc. I was annoyed, but then I saw this image. HOLY CRAP! I am a sucker for iconic things and you can’t get any more iconic than classic image of the Avengers! You got your founding members, then the secondary team. This will be one of the stories which take time in the younger years of the Avenegrs. Is it weird I am more excited about this than the Avengers proper title? I think it is, but for a right reason. It gets better when Mark Waid is officially said to write these Avenegers, too! HOLY! I want this out now! The art by Barry Kitson is beautiful! So crisp, so clean, so easy to the eye…..okay, the way I’m starting to talk is getting bizarre, but I can’t help myself. If you haven’t guessed yet Avengers #1.1 is A MUST READ.
Alright! This was my part 2 of the Marvel NOW! Analysis. Hopefully you enjoyed it as much as me when I was writing it. Which out of the 5 series are you most looking forward to? It’s pretty clear for me. There is more parts to come and read part 1. I think part 3 will have more Spider-Man titles. Like this, share this, follow this. This is ComicBooger!
