There are multiple versions of Jean Grey. We will go with the current, young Jean that came from the past into the present. The battle takes place in an abandoned city.

Battle!

smaller_mmartian_phoenix1done_straight_by_broken_endings-d7peanbTwo skyscrapers are standing next to each other. On one of them we see Jean Grey on the roof. On the other is Miss Martian. A cannon goes off beginning the battle. Jean tries to get in to the Martian’s head, but can’t for some reason. It seems that Miss Martian is blocking her, and then a punch contacts Jean Grey. Miss Martian’s punch send Grey into the air, but Jean was able to regain control. She looks around and sees no one then Jean blocks for some reason (with psychic shield) and uses here telekinetic force to push something invisible away. Invisible Miss Martian gets pushed into a building by Jean’s telekinesis. She turns visible. M’gann is held up to a building them she shoots her Martian vision. Jean Grey blocks the attack with a psychic shield.

Jean Grey says, “Your tricks won’t work on me! I’ll eventually get in”. Miss Martian says, “We’ll see who gets into whose mind, first!”. Miss Martian phases through the building and Jean lost her opponent visually. Jean tries to focus on locating Ms. Martian. We look back at what Miss Martian is doing. She just phased out of the entire building then, dives down into the ground (phasing through it) she then comes out of it and flies straight at Jean Grey. She begins shape-shifting and Jean Grey spots her. Jean sees that something weird is happening with Ms. Martian so she shoots a psychic blast at her.

Miss Martian fighting Supergirl

Miss Martian blocks it with a psychic shield. Megan turned into a huge monster that resembles a dragon. The monster knocks Jean Grey down to the ground. It wants to finish her off, but Jean uses a psychic force field as the monster tries to beat her up. Jean lays there and focuses as the shield protects her from the blows. Ms. Martian sees something is up so she starts shooting heat vision full-power in her monster form! Jean’s psychic shield is about to break! Then…. Ms. Martian suddenly stops what she’s doing, turns back to her regular form and screams! She then falls from the air straight into the ground, Jean catches her. They both land. Jean leaves her on the ground and says, “Sorry it had to be like this. You seemed like a nice person.” and flies away. Explanation time! So both Jean Grey and Ms. Martian tried to get into each other’s heads throughout the entire match. Jean spots Ms. Martian when she turned invisible because although she couldn’t get into her head she could still locate her. Toward the end of the battle Ms. Martian thought she could win by blocking her psychically and attacking physically, but turning into that monster did require extra effort which weakened her psychic protection. This gave Jean an open spot to get into Ms. Martian’s head and use the famous weakness of fire inside of her mind.

Evolution of Jean Grey

Jean is considered to be the greatest telepath alive so it explains why she was able to figure out M’gann’s weakness quickly. And although Ms. Martian is as strong as an average Kryptonian under the yellow sun her first punch in the battle didn’t kill Jean Grey because of her protective telekinetic aura.  Jean won this beautifully.

WINNER: JEAN GREY
